The government adopted in the Council of Ministers, Wednesday, June 1, 2022, the decree creating and approving the statutes of the Agency for Information and Digital Systems.
“For more rationality, efficiency and coherence of public action”, in connection with the operationalization of the Beninese Company of Digital Infrastructures (SBIN), the government proceeded to the merger of four executing agencies in one. These are: the Digital Development Agency (ADN); the Information Services and Systems Agency (ASSI); the National Information Systems Security Agency (ANSSI); the Beninese Agency for the Universal Service of Electronic Communications and Post (ABSUCEP). These four Agencies set up in 2016 as part of the implementation of projects in the Digital sector relating to the deployment of high and very high speed, dematerialization, security of information systems and networks, universal service and extension of networks in rural areas as well as the development of community uses have been dissolved.
According to the Council of Ministers, “the optimization needs of this architecture, in connection with the operationalization of the Beninese Company of Digital Infrastructures (SBIN) command, for more rationality, efficiency and coherence of the action to merge the four executive agencies into one”.
The government has adopted the decree creating and approving the statutes of the Agency for Information and Digital Systems (ASIN), placed under the dual supervision of the Ministry of Digital and Digitalization, and the Ministry of Economy and finances.
