Until September 30, 2022, the number of active clients of microfinance institutions (MFIs) reached more than 508 thousand clients, an increase of 8.09% compared to the same period of 2021.
According to the microfinance barometer published by the Tunisian Microfinance Control Authority (ACM) for the month of December 2022, the amount of the average outstanding amount per active client recorded an increase of 3.11% during the same period. period, going from 2,954 dinars(D) to 3,046 D.
Disbursements from MFIs reached 1,192.4 million dinars (MD), during the first nine months of 2022, thus recording an increase of 3.79%.
At the end of September 2022, the amount of average microcredit granted by MFIs recorded an annual growth rate of 0.84%, going from 3,692 D to 3,723 D, at the end of September 2021.
The number of active credits, for its part, reached, as of September 30, 2022, 550,971, i.e. an annual growth rate of 8.22%.
Also according to the microfinance barometer, the amount of the average outstanding amount per active loan recorded, during the same period, an increase of 3%, to stand at 2,812 D.
The microfinance sector has 7 approved MFIs in the form of public limited companies, one MFI in the form of an association and 288 microcredit associations.
