Law n ° 2022-14 on agricultural orientation, food and nutritional security in the Republic of Benin was adopted, this Tuesday, June 21, 2022, unanimously by the deputies present or represented at the plenary session.
Articulated around eight (8) chapters divided into one hundred and fourteen (114) articles, Law No. 2022-14 on agricultural orientation, food and nutritional security in the Republic of Benin was adopted by the National Assembly on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, in plenary session and in the presence of the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries Gaston Dossouhoui.
The vote on the law is directly in line with one of the Sustainable Development Goals (Eradicate hunger and ensure food and nutritional security). The law aims, among other things, to promote a modern and competitive agricultural sector through favorable taxation for agricultural and agri-food businesses; put in place a specific tax regime for agricultural land ownership; facilitate access to certified seeds for major consumption crops.
