The Sexual and Reproductive Health and Health Information Support Program ([email protected]) reinforces the actions of the central and decentralized structures of the Minister of Social Affairs and Microfinance. Thursday, December 22, 2022, the program coordinator handed over 24 laptops to help the Masm improve the management of gender-based violence.

Worth more than 22 million FCFA, the 24 laptops reinforce the collaboration that the Support Program for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Health Information ([email protected]) maintains with the Ministry of Social Affairs and of microfinance (Masm) on the themes of sexual and reproductive rights and social protection. According to the coordinator of the [email protected] program, Dr. Elysée Somassè, it was after analyzing the needs of the structures concerned that the idea of acquiring 24 laptops to strengthen reporting and monitoring-evaluation took shape. For him, therefore, the computer equipment could facilitate the use of the SIDOFFE platform set up by the Masm and which serves as a reference for all actors in the social and health sectors for statistics related to social actions including violence based on gender. Dr. Elysée Somassè therefore hopes that laptops will be used for the effective consolidation of strategies in favor of access to sexual and reproductive rights as well as the promotion of gender equality and the fight against GBV.

Welcoming the gesture that he describes as far-reaching, the Director of Cabinet of the Masm, Hervé Tété Nani, representing the Minister Véronique Tognifodé, suggested that Enabel thus shows how much the support of the ministry constitutes for him a great concern. According to him, from now on the heads of the central services, the departmental directors and the heads of the social promotion centers will be better equipped to engage in the reforms in progress. On behalf of the beneficiaries, he promises that good use will be made of the material.

Of the 24 laptops, 04 will go to the Department of Family, Childhood and Adolescents, 08 to Couffo, 12 to the Atlantic.
