The Beninese government provides for the management of student transport in public universities by the private sector. The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Eléonore Yayi Ladékan, addressed the subject, this Friday, June 17, 2022, in the program “The government in action” on national television.

Management of student transport in public universities in Benin by the private sector. According to Minister Éléonore Yayi Ladékan, “necessary means are needed to optimize this service”. This is one of the reasons that leads the government to consider the management of student transportation by the private sector.

“Student transport could be entrusted to private companies,” said the minister. According to him, “these individuals will absolutely receive support from the State”. The goal is to improve the quality of service offered to students. “(…) we have to find the means and find the specialists in the field”, added Éléonore Yayi Ladékan.

The government of Patrice Talon, she continues, also has a project relating to student accommodation. As soon as this project is effective, “students will not even find the need to take a bus to leave far and come to their course”.
